About
Kirkvoe Medical is run by Dr Zoe Shepherd. She works locally as a GP and has had further specialist training in occupational medicine. It is based in central Kirkwall and offers medical examinations required by industries including the maritime sector and offshore energy.
We are able to undertake driving medical examinations for HGV and taxi drivers as well as bespoke examinations that may be requested by your employer.
We are based in the North Isles Chiropractic Clinic in central Kirkwall.
Medicals
ML5 and ENG1
One of these is usually needed to work in various roles on ferries, fishing boats and other maritime roles. They include reviewing your medical history, a clinical examination and eye test. Please bring with you a copy of any previous medical certificate, your medical history and current medications (available from your GP), glasses or contact lenses and photographic ID.
HGV and Taxi
We are able to complete D4 medical examinations required for HGV drivers and other driving medicals as required by your employer.
OEUK / Renewables UK
We are accredited by OEUK (previously OGUK) to carry out medicals and can add on Fitness to Train and Emergency Response Team medicals if required. The OEUK medical is often adopted by windfarm workers and we can adapt it for this.
